Looking to build your portfolio and industry network? We've got good news: What Riva Wore is looking for part-time interns for the fall. While the position is unpaid (college credit is available), you'll get hands-on experience covering Los Angeles' thriving and stylish scene.
Responsibilities include writing, editorial research, and assisting with other projects. Tasks include but aren't limited to writing sample sale and event listings, creating social media content, assisting the editor at press events and previews, and potentially covering fashion and other cultural events. You'll also have a chance to pitch and write your own original stories, build your contacts, and most importantly, develop your portfolio.
Though you must be located in the Los Angeles area, you'll be mostly working remotely so you must have your own laptop. Familiarity with HTML, light photo editing skills, and experience using WordPress or other CMS is ideal but not required. The ideal candidate should also be detail-oriented and have a knack for clever and engaging writing. Of course, a strong interest in LA-focused reporting, fashion, and culture is must.
Wanna join? To apply, email [email protected] with the subject line "What Riva Wore Internship Application," along with a short cover letter describing yourself and why you're a great fit for the position, your resume, your availability, and up to three relevant writing samples (if you've got 'em). We'll reach out to potential candidates within a week of receiving applications.
